What you will do in your working day

The main duties associated with the role are:

To provide a courteous and efficient reception service to patients, carers and visitors within the Practice ensuring:

  • Patients access the primary care services they require in a timely fashion
  • Visitors sign in and out and the member of staff they are seeing are advised of their arrival
  • The tidiness of the waiting room and the safety of its inhabitants
  • Queries are answered or passed to an appropriate member of staff in a timely fashion
  • Accurately updating patient records using System-One
  • Taking action as requested by doctors and the nursing team
  • Phoning patients to arrange/rearrange appointments and/or confirm test results
  • Support the duty team with patient communication to the on-the-day triage system
  • Processing of repeat prescription requests
  • Supporting the provision of a seamless co-ordinated multi-disciplinary service through good communication and any other tasks/duties as requested by the Office Manager and wider administrative team

The training you will be getting

Things to consider

Those reliant on public or alternative methods of transport would need to ensure they are able to arrive before 8am, ready for an 8am start and are able to stay until 6.15pm prior to application.

About the employer

We are a single site practice serving approx. 8100 patients in the North East of Norwich. We have 3 GP partners and one salaried GP. We also proud to have multi-disciplinary clinical team working from the practice providing a range of services, from mental health through to physiotherapy. There has been a significant amount of housing development in the local area with more planned and so we envisage continuous growth of the patient list size and the practice itself.
