What you will do in your working day

The apprentice would be based in the PE Department at Fairfield prep school. They will:

  • Assist in PE lessons in all age groups, lead small group activities and phases such as warm up and cool downs.
  • Be able to take a lead with teams for fixtures and training sessions under the supervision of sports staff.
  • Become fully engaged in the day to day running of the school, joining on trips, tours and fixtures as appropriate and being part of all school INSET. 

The training you will be getting

  • L4 Apprenticeship Standard in Sports Coach
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA):
  • Work based project and presentation with questioning
  • Practical observation with questioning
  • Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio

Delivery Method

  • You will need to be able to attend a training course at Loughborough College starting on 1st August 2024 for 3 weeks Monday to Friday. (Please ensure you are able to travel before applying)
  • Online portfolio to update with learning and development completed onsite
  • Diarised visits from dedicated Trainer/Assessor
  • Attendance to Loughborough College for Functional Skills (if required)
