What you will do in your working day

  • Be assigned set/controlled tasks for the assembly of a range of electrical equipment
  • Will gain experience of operating in an engineering assembly environment safely and effectively
  • Undertake timely assessments & checks of work carried out learning at the front end
  • Assemble work from a parts list and drawings
  • Correct assembly of all electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • Stripping, crimping, and terminating all cables including umbilical's
  • Continuous improvement activities
  • Be able to follow directions given by Trainer or Team Leader in a pro-active manner
  • Testing of sub-assemblies and systems
  • Maintain an excellent timekeeping record at both the training centre and in the workplace 
  • Complete all necessary technical qualification and Diplomas on time and to the correct standard 
  • Individuals must be able to work alone and as part of a team

About the employer

Working under the direction and guidance of an experienced supervisor you will be supported in all areas of the job role whilst working towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. During this time, you will achieve the skills and experience to become a qualified Electrical Fitter, together with an insight into the engineering, estimating, testing & CAD roles of a successful company. You will develop an understanding of the industry including health and safety, use of hand tools as well as demonstrating your practical skills in various elements.
