What you will do in your working day
This is a great opportunity for a Level 3 Equine Apprentice to get stuck in with the daily running of the stud, including, but not limited to:
- Mucking out
- Turning out/bringing in
- Tacking up and tack cleaning
- Feeding and filling hay nets
- Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
- Bathing and rug changing
- First aid
- Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
- Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
The training you will be getting
- Senior Equine Groom Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
- All trianing will take place at the employer's premises, with the support of the employer, and will be carried out by Haddon Training
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- After completion, there may be an opportunity to join the Aston Mullins team as a permenant member of the team
