What you will do in your working day

The successful candidate can expect to be carrying out daily duties such as:

Duties will include:

  • Mucking out
  • Tacking event
  • Attending events
  • Lunging
  • Riding (competent only)
  • Turning out

As there is a requirement to attend events, applicants must be willing to travel. 

The training you will be getting

  • Equine groom level 2
  • Functional Skills in English and maths if required

All training will take place at the employer's premises, with the support of the employer, and will be carried out by Haddon Training.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon completion, there may be an opportunity to progress onto the level 3 apprenticeship and/or gain permenant employment with the employer.

Things to consider

Accommodation for the successful candidate is available, with livery for their own horse possible too. Previous experience with horses or ponies is essential, ideally riding within a pony club or riding club so the basic understanding of how to care for horses and ride is established. This is a very exciting opportunity for somebody to work with and learn from a top level rider and head girl that have a vast experience of knowledge to pass on.
