What you will do in your working day
The following lists the Key Areas for which you are responsible and accountable. These are not exhaustive, and your support is required in developing your Job Description and role as the position progresses. Firm Contribution • To make the fullest contribution to the Company at large. • To be supportive of colleagues and participate in the Firm’s initiatives and events. • To improve your job role through consistent improvements and suggestions for your role and the department as a whole. • To ensure communication is valid throughout the company network and information given is factual. Role Specific • Liaising with internal departments to ensure a smooth and timely operation to ensure finished goods are ready on time to meet loading schedules. • Raising orders and invoices on internal database and SAGE200. • Working closely with freight forwarders to arrange shipping and haulage. • Arranging and completing export documentation accurately and in a timely manner. • Ensuring systems are up to date and databases are filled in correctly. • Overseeing the loading of overseas orders in all conditions. • Problem solving to ensure problem resolution for customers and delivering excellent customer service. • Maintaining quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. • Candidate will be fully trained on how to arrange all aspects related to export orders and on how to complete export documentation correctly with a view to developing into an integral part of the Export Team. Client Care • To ensure the highest possible levels of customer and supplier care are delivered thereby ensuring excellent levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business. Confidentiality • Protection of confidential information is a fundamental feature of your relationship with customers, suppliers, and the Company. It exists as a concept both as a matter of law and as a matter of conduct. Compliance • To be aware of your responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and ensure safe working practices are always followed. • To demonstrate technical ability appropriate to the role. • To demonstrate an understanding of the professional and statutory requirements within which the Company operates. Teamwork • To contribute to the department generally, taking an active part in meetings.
The training you will be getting
You will be training against the full Business Administrator standard with the goal to achieve a Level 3 in Business Administration. All training will take place at the employer’s premises.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress to the full-time position of Export Coordinator, with subsequent opportunities for advancement within the department or across the broader company. In the long term, there are likely opportunities to progress to supervisor and then manager levels.
