What you will do in your working day

The apprentice will get trained in all departments that contribute towards the process of flexographic printing. This will include:

  • Plate-making
  • Ink mixing
  • Operating pre-press
  • Being trained on one of our state of the art printing presses
  • We will offer full and regular training, with a view to the apprentice becoming a no.1 printer by the end of their apprenticeship

The training you will be getting

The candidate will be supported by a training coordinator to ensure that they have the possible support from both Watershed Packaging and BPIF Training throughout the duration of the apprenticeship. Training requirements will be discussed at the point of employment to suit your individual needs and the business needs. All training will be based on site, with sufficient time and space allocated for any off-line learning. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate will obtain a 'Print Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship' standard.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Number 1 printer on one of our four state of the art printing presses, responsible for production of high quality flexible packaging to the food, dairy and beverage markets.

Things to consider

Bi-annual performance & pay reviews with Senior Management. Annual bonus & perks available. Upon completion of apprenticeship, a starting wage of £25k+ can be expected as a minimum. Operating heavy machinery, so attention to health & safety and taking clear instruction is required.
