Finbars Restaurant have an opportunity for a keen apprentice to join as assistant to our highly experienced, Executive Head Chef. The successful candidate will be learning new skills and assisting with day to day running of the kitchen such as preparing food and carrying out basic cooking tasks.

What you will do in your working day

  • Preparing fresh local produce, chopping and garnishing
  • Presenting and plating the food to a high standard
  • Setting up starters and desserts
  • Recreating dishes prepared by the Chef
  • Assisting with menu plans
  • Following procedures and adhering to Health and Hygiene procedures
  • Washing up and making sure kitchen is left clean

The training you will be getting

  • Level 2 NVQ commis chef
  • Maths and English functional skills if required
  • Most of your training will be completed on the job however you will be required to attend Chef workshops in line with HIT trainings requirements

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

We would like the successful applicant to work for us in a chef role and further their training after completion of the apprenticeship.
