What you will do in your working day

As an Apprentice Machinist, you will play an integral role in our team, supporting the production of a range of components for our products.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment where you will learn to read and interpret technical drawings, program, and set CNC machines, and use a variety of manual machines. 
A typical day in this role will involve working closely with our experienced team of machinists and engineers. You will assist in:

  • Setting up and operating machinery
  • Checking the quality of parts
  • Learning the intricacies of machining principles and techniques

The training you will be getting

Your role as an Apprentice Machinist will have a real impact on the success of Siemens Energy Lincoln.

By learning the skills and techniques necessary to produce high-quality components, you will be contributing directly to the production of our innovative products. 

We’ll also provide support to complete the Level 3 Machinist Standard, enabling you to develop your skills and further your career within our company. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

This will be a 4 year Apprenticeship where you will complete the Level 3 Machinist Standard. This opens up many career routes within Siemens Energy.
