What you will do in your working day

• Working within engineering departments to develop understanding of key engineering processes.

• Assisting departments with the day-to-day duties in the workshop, keeping all equipment in a state of readiness and making sure tools and consumables are available.

• On occasion, working off-site with Service Engineers helping with installation, commissioning, testing and servicing of hire equipment.

• Learning alongside our seasoned Engineers on practices such as vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

The training you will be getting

Qualifications included:

  • Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard. Company Training Plan & Assessment.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Development Knowledge (1 day per week for 2 years at college)
    Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance (workplace)
  • Level 2 Functional Skills - Maths (If required)
  • Level 2 Functional Skills - English (If required)
  • End Point Assessment at the end of the apprenticeship

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Level 3 qualified depot based Plant Engineer or Field Service Plant Engineer working on a wide range of Plant. Further education possibilities are also available should the employee wish to pursue this.
  • We have employees that started their career here as an Engineer and are now Directors within the company. A company support vehicle may be provided on qualification as a Field Service Engineer.

Things to consider

Passionate about engineering. Driving licence or currently learning to drive. Must maintain a reasonable level of fitness to conduct this role but do not let this preclude you from applying. It's a mixture of both indoor and outside work, appropriate clothing will be issued for this. Should be within commutable distance of HP17 8LJ
