What you will do in your working day

College Apprenticeship Training will be with Truro College and will start in September/October 2024. Employment will start prior to the college start date.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business in the construction industry. You will report to your team leader every morning where you will be advised of the tasks for the day ahead. You will be taught all aspects of machine applied render and you will be assisting your team to help achieve the highest possible standard.
As part of the apprenticeship you will have 1 day per week at Truro College, day to be confirmed.
28 Days Holiday per year.
CSCS card is essential along will PPE and Driving licence

The training you will be getting

Plasterer level 2 

Programme content Knowledge ?Health and safety: Health and safety hazards, current regulations and legislation. Codes of practice and safe working practices, including asbestos awareness and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE). ?Customer service: The principles of high quality customer service. Establishing the needs of others (colleagues, customers and other stakeholders). Respect the working environment including customers’ properties, impact on other trades and the project. ?Communication: Different communication methods. How to communicate in a clear, articulate and appropriate manner. How to adapt communication style to different situations. How to interpret and use drawings and specifications. ?Buildings: Different eras, types of construction methods, insulation considerations, facilities, fire protection. The importance of thermal/insulation to buildings, damp proofing/tanking, renovation and restoration. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

On successful completion of apprenticeship there may be an opportunity for a full time position.

About the employer

A&P Williams are a growing business that was established in 2001, the management team have fifty years experience between them. They have worked in several countries in Europe gaining a wealth of knowledge of the technologies available throughout the plastering and rendering industry. In 2001 they settled back in Newquay and decided to set up a business which as they have gained reputation and contracts they have kept adding to there fleet of plastering machines.
