What you will do in your working day

  • Leyland Trucks operates from one of Europe’s most advanced truck assembly facilities, the Leyland Assembly Plant
  • You will gain first-hand knowledge of how our trucks are assembled through the use of just-in-time manufacturing methods, correct tool usage and electronic work instructions
  • You will gain hands-on experience and an insight into areas including frame assembly, piping and wiring, chassis and cab assembly, and vehicle finish

The training you will be getting

  • You will acheive Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering qualification as part of the Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship Standard
  • You will attend Preston College on a block release basis to complete the above qualifications
  • The training will be on a 12 - 15 week block release basis, one term atteneded each year
