What you will do in your working day

From the first day at Mars, you will get quality mentoring and coaching from our experienced associates, as well as:

* Developing leadership skills to enable you to lead a team to achieve mutually beneficial results.

* Learning how to operate, diagnose faults and repair our equipment.

* Learning problem solving techniques and applying them in the factory to improve performance efficiency.

* Learning and applying all relevant Mars quality and safety systems to ensure responsibility for the safety of yourself, other people and products is maintained.

* Learning about quality, health and food safety, and have exposure to a variety of support functions such as pest control, auditing, and management systems.

The training you will be getting

  • This Food and Drink Technical Operator apprenticeship will provide a Level 3 qualification
  • The apprenticeship will be based at the Melton Mowbray (Leicestershire) site
  • The training will be provided by the University of Lincoln via block release

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

On successful completion of the Operations Apprenticeship, you will have demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to take ownership and accountability for several machines, processes or pieces of equipment and carry out complex operational tasks, enabling you to coordinate a team of operational Associates to achieve line KPIs and take the lead in repairing mechanical breakdowns.
