    Salary included above is for the 1st 12 months whilst on programme. After month 12, this salary increases. If you are aged 21 or over on your first anniversary, your salary will increase in line with national minimum wage.

What you will do in your working day

Duties may include:

  • General maintenance ​
  • Managing breakdowns on site and finding faults ​
  • Adding new systems on site for better productivity ​
  • Running mechanical tests​
  • Health and safety checks which include risk assessments and fire alarm tests​
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment and ensuring safety comes before anything else
  • Taking pride in all work completed and being determined to succeed!

As this role could require you working between sites, a driving licence will be needed.

The training you will be getting

  • Level 3 qualification in Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician
  • The training will be a block release
  • Functional skills in maths and English (if required)
  • Apprentice must be able to travel to Wolverhampton for College

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • After successful completion of apprenticeship, you will be given the opportunity to move into a full-time position as a Fitter
  • Future progression opportunities in Tarmac are widely available with experience and include roles such as: Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager

Things to consider

Working both inside and outside. Driving Licence needed for travel. Role is easily commutable from Telford, Wellington, Market Drayton, Broseley, Much Wenlock, Shawbury, Welshpool, Bridgnorth, Oswestry, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Shifnal, Albrighton and the surrounding areas.
