What you will do in your working day
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF A DOCUMENT CONTROLLER
Document Management: They oversee the entire lifecycle of documents, from creation to archiving. This involves using established document control procedures and using control protocols.
Document Distribution: They manage the distribution of documents to the appropriate individuals or departments, ensuring that the right people have access to the required information.
Record Keeping: Document controllers maintain accurate records of all documents, including tracking revisions, approvals, and any other relevant metadata. They ensure that documents are properly indexed and easily searchable.
Quality Control: They perform regular quality checks to ensure that documents meet the organization's standards and follow established formatting and branding guidelines.
Compliance and Auditing: Document controllers ensure that documents comply with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal/external policies.
Training and Support: They may provide training and support to employees on document control procedures and systems, helping them understand the importance of proper document management.

- Full Business Administration Level 3 Standard
- All training to be delivered within the workplace.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
This qualification will qualify the candidate as a Document Controller. This role can lead to a Quality/Document Controller or Lead Document Controller position after more experience.
