What you will do in your working day

  • Establish, supply & calibration of hand tooling.
  • Issue standard operating procedures and maintaining when required.
  • Assist Manufacturing Test with co-ordinating Test Equipment calibration.
  • Design, supply & maintain manufacturing jigs/aids.
  • Take part in Design for Manufacture activities.
  • Partake in problem solving activities
  • Look and implement cost out opportunities and eliminating waste in processes
  • Create manufacturing processes that support predicatable and repeatable results

Level 3 Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard:

Qualification: Technical Support - 

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support
  • Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)

Things to consider

This programme is a great opportunity, however will require a lot of hard work and dedication. Learners will be expected to work towards qualifications and also contribute towards real work activities from the second year onwards. Failure to complete the programme may also result in failure to remain in employment. Any successful candidate must be willing to undergo a government security clearance and achieve this without caveats in order to fulfil the requirements of the role. For the clearance, a UK nationality (without any dual nationals) is required.
