Supporting the charity’s mission by coordinating projects and activities, maintaining a positive and friendly company image by acting as the first line of contact in person, online, and via telephone.

What you will do in your working day

  • Manage correspondence by answering emails and sorting mail
  • Interact with CEO and carry out their requests
  • Assist with drafting and editing grant applications and bid-writing
  • Attend workshops and conferences when requested
  • Help with website content and social media management
  • Coordinate charity volunteers in-person and online
  • Support online and in-person fundraising efforts
  • Liaise with counterpart working in Ghana
  • Track outgoings on a project-by-project basis
  • Network with relevant organisations and individuals
  • Manage office space and interact with visitors
  • Answer phone calls and communicate with relevant parties
  • Record staff and volunteer expense requests
  • Manage different projects and activities run by the charity
  • Recruit and onboard new staff members and volunteers

This is a work-based qualification with college attendance one day a month.

About the employer

Sovereign House GH is a charity working in the UK and Ghana to empower people through various initiatives. In the UK we run a Computer Learning Programme for young people and are starting to provide digital skills training to a wider range of people of all ages. In Ghana we are constructing a first-of-its-kind children’s home, working to improve the institutional care sector.
