What you will do in your working day

As an Operations Apprentice you will be key to providing manufacturing and assemble capabilities to the defence and security of the United Kingdom. You will deliver practical production and process operations in highly regulated and safety conscious working environment.

The role covers a wide range of common and job specific skills sets that can be transferred across the manufacturing engineering industry sectors during the course of their careers.

You will be supporting various facility maintenance activiites, related to Mechanical, Electrical and Control & Instrumentation skills.

The training you will be getting

Diploma in engineering operations (skills). 

Certificate/Diploma in engineering operations (knowledge).

Functional Skills (if required).

The initial training will take place at Oxford Advanced Skills in Oxford for 6 months. Transport to and from Aldermaston will be provided. You will undertake theory and practical training within AWE to support your apprenticeship.

Things to consider

Initial training will take place at 0xford Advanced Skills (6 months) with return transport from Aldermaston provided. Upon completion of initial phase of training, you will be based at either AWE site for workplace learning.
