What you will do in your working day

  • Through work shadowing understand HSEQ advisory role and responsibility;
  • Assisting with records, audits, inspections, and monitoring activities to verify compliance with, and effectiveness of, company policies, processes and procedures;
  • Following up on all actions raised in audit reports within your area of responsibility;
  • Develop and deliver innovative means of interacting with our colleagues that promote positive safety culture, wellbeing and protecting the environment;
  • Supporting the HSEQ team to conduct incident investigations and reports;
  • Assisting with reporting, recording, investigating and analysing accidents & incidents;
  • Gain an understanding of how to complete and maintain records of measurement associated with the health and safety risks associated with an office/operational environment – such as DSE, manual handling, noise, dust, vibration, chemicals;
  • Updating and maintaining database records, on the company intranet and the company SharePoint system;
  • Willing to gain an understanding of the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018;
  • Performing quality control checks on company records, sampling manual and electronic filing systems;
  • Supporting the implementation of Company Policy, Plans and Initiatives;
  • Attending and participating in departmental meetings to improve business knowledge and understanding.

This Safety, Health and Environment Technician Apprenticeship is delivered in line with Apprenticeship Standard ST0550.

Through work experience, coaching, vocational and practical training, you’ll complete a Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Apprenticeship. This will enable the role holder to carry out their duties in a competent and efficient manner by the end of the apprenticeship.

Things to consider

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. Due to the remote location of the sites, public transport availability is limited.
