What you will do in your working day

Eilberg Dressage are looking for a groom apprentice to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a learner to gain experience in a high class training facility and learn from the country's top international riders and trainers to kick start their equine career.

The right candidate will need to work well in a team, eager to learn and be competent in their riding skills.

Previous experience of working around horses is essential. We will not be able to put you forward for this position without some experience. Previous experience in handling young stock would also be an advantage.

Duties would include;

  • mucking out
  • feeding
  • turning out and bringing in
  • grooming
  • tacking cleaning
  • yard maintenance

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic with a willingness to learn, highly motivated with a can do attitude.

The training you will be getting

You will be working towards the Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship, with the employer, at the employers premises and supported by Haddon Training.

You will also be supported in completing Functional Skills in maths and/ or English if not already acheived. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

For the right candidate, there is the option to progress onto the Level 3 Senior Equine Groom apprenticeship.
