What you will do in your working day

Here’s what your role as an apprentice will involve:

  • Developing your skills in a wide range of exciting projects
    Learning and using relevant design software
  • Being involved in client meetings and assisting in building key client relationships

  • Your mentors will support you as you study towards nationally recognised qualifications and accreditation

The training you will be getting

  • Degree Apprenticeship Standard: Electrical/Electronic Technical Support Engineer level 6

This standard has been designed to meet the professional standards of the Engineering Council for initial registration as an Engineering Technician (Eng Tech) in partnership with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Further professional development and registration is subject to candidates successfully completing the appropriate learning, developing the appropriate competence, and undergoing professional review.

You’ll gain the professional skills you need for a successful career, including business awareness and product design standards and legislation.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Learn electrical principles and specialisms across electronic and embedded systems.
Gain design and implementation skills and apply them in projects on the job.
Study a range of electrical and electronic engineering specialisms, including the design and implementation of networks using communications and signal processing techniques, appropriate engineering management, and instrumentation and control systems.
Work towards chartered engineer status to help you advance your career.
This apprenticeship is co-designed with a range of industry partners, including a local, national, and international network of leading manufacturers and engineers.

This course meets the embedded electronic systems design and development engineer apprenticeship standard and electrical or electronic technical support engineer apprenticeship standard.
