What you will do in your working day

During your apprenticeship you will gain valuable experience in one of our manufacturing workshops, which will culminate in you completing an End Point Assessment. 


Specific activities could include:

The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Sheet Metal work has a typical duration of 48 Months, the first 12 months of which will be spent in our fully accredited training centre located in the Naval Base.

During your 12 month foundation engineering training you will undertake a series of activities that will equip you with the fundamental hand skills and knowledge to progress to the second year of your programme.

Following the successful completion of your first year training you will move into your first placement within our busy manufacturing workshop where you will continue to learn alongside an experienced team of sheet metal workers.

Upon completion of this apprenticeship you will be able to manufacture components and assemblies from a range a ferrous and non-ferrous materials using powered and non-powered tools and machinery.

You will be expected to work both individually and as part of a team, understand and comply with organisational and statutory safety requirements and work with minimum supervision.
