What you will do in your working day

Logistics sits within the wider Supply Chain Function and focusses on the latter stages of the Procurement Process. Which includes the receipting, storage, maintenance and distribution of critical materials. 

The role is one ideally suited to enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working as part of a team and have excellent communication skills. It will also look to develop hands on experience, so Logistics specific training will be delivered whilst on scheme. Which will include Forklift Truck, Safe Handling and Transport training.

During your two-year apprenticeship you’ll be introduced to the company and begin a diverse mix of placements, that will offer a distinctive set of practical and technical skills in your chosen role.

These placements will provide you with a breadth of knowledge of the function, as well as giving you the opportunity to work alongside experts in the field. 

The role will involve working in a variety of our different Material Management teams, such as Warehousing, Transport and Material Delivery. Where you will be required to interact with various teams and stakeholders within the business to ensure the receipt, storing and delivery of items across our Barrow site. 

You will also undertake academic studies part time at college, studying towards a Level 2 Logistics relevant qualification.
