Engineering Operatives will undertake activities across both mechanical and electrical specialisations in support of the wider engineering projects which are being undertaken on Royal Navy platforms based at Portsmouth Naval Base.

You will be expected to work both individually and as part of a team, understand and comply with organisational and statutory safety requirements and work with minimum supervision.

Engineering operatives will work with associated trades such as Electrical and Mechanical fitters and will develop a strong understanding of the marine industry.

The training you will be getting

The Engineering Operative Apprenticeship has a typical duration of 18 Months, the first 9 months of which will be spent in our fully accredited training centre located in the Naval Base.

During your foundation engineering training you will complete two level 2 engineering qualifications that will equip you with the basic skills and knowledge to undertake the role of an Engineering Operative.

Following the successful completion of these qualifications you will join one of the many projects within our busy warship support business where you will continue to learn alongside an experienced engineering team.

•    Level 2 Diploma in engineering operations (skills)
•    Level 2 Certificate in engineering operations (knowledge)
