What you will do in your working day

The NDE role is approximately 80% practical and 20% desk based, this role has a high variety of inspection which allows for continuous growth of learning and skills.  

NDE is a vital part of Quality Control in BAE Systems Submarines, it allows inspectors to identify defects that could be detrimental to the product safety of the submarine for the Royal Navy if left undetected and help ensure these inspections are rectified to make sure all inspections meet the requirements of the standards and fit for purpose. 

The training you will be getting

  • Apprentices are required to achieve industry-recognised NDT Level 2 certification in one method in accordance with national and international standards.
  • Functional skills if required.
  • Blended on/off the job training and location to be confirmed.
