What you will do in your working day

Due to the residential element of the apprenticeship, successful candidates must be at least 18 years of age when they commence the apprenticeship.  

We encourage suitably qualified candidates of any age to apply for this apprenticeship; however, please note that if you will not be 18 years of age when the apprenticeship commences then your application will be considered for a future intake of apprentices. 

The first phase of training is spent working towards your City & Guilds Level 3 Qualifications which is a mix of theory, practical tasks in avionic and mechanical workshops and also time spent on aircraft simulated tasks. Followed by Platform Placement Training to prepare you for your vocational training. 

In your second phase of training you will be placed within the business, either working on maintaining the aircraft or in a support role.

The training you will be getting

  • Engineering Technician L3 Standard certificate.
  • Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace and Aviation Engineering (Hand skills).
  • Level 3 Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Aviation Maintenance.
  • Potential EASA CAT A module certificates.
