What you will do in your working day

Duties will include amongst others:

  • Implementing teachers' plans and annotating these to evaluate the impact of the support and progress of the child(ren)
  • Working 1:1 supporting all relevant lessons
  • Guiding small groups of learners
  • Supporting children at play and lunchtimes
  • Supporting class educational visits
  • Attending staff meetings

The training you will be getting

  • The Apprenticeship will work towards a Teaching Assistant level 3 Apprenticeship Standard this will include 20% off the job training which could take place at a local Walsall training centre and is included in working hours
  • Applicants may also need to work towards Functional Skills in English and maths

  • As part of the Endless Possibilities programme you will be given information, advice and guidance on our progression pathways
  • This is a fixed term contract but we have a high retention rate for our Apprentices who usually progress into full-time employment or the next level of the Apprenticeship

Things to consider

School life is extremely busy and you will be active all day! You will need to be Resilient and able to multi-task and enjoy working with children of all ages and caring for their needs. It is desirable that you are already Level 2 qualified and you have a real drive for wanting all children to achieve their very best.
