What you will do in your working day

The Kindergarten Group are looking for an apprentice to join their nursery. They pride themselves on the relationships that they build with the children and because they get to know the children so well, they are able to personalise their approach to the child's care and development. Duties include:

  • Providing physical and emotional care
  • Steering the learning of the children
  • Building relationships with parents and childcare professionals
  • Keeping accurate children’s development records
  • Preparing snacks and meals
  • Following nursery procedures and policies

The training you will be getting

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. The Kindergarten Group will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
  • Functional skills in maths and English if required

This will be delivered through The Kindergarten Group’s dedicated training provider, Realise. Realise is an established training provider that’s enjoying an exciting period of growth following a management buyout and rebrand in late 2020.

About the employer

The Kindergarten Group was set up in 2012 by Natasha Richards, Director of Educational Development, who is responsible for providing the leadership and direction for all of the kindergarten settings. Natasha has a BA Honours Degree in Primary Education, a Masters in Education and has over twenty years experience teaching children from preschool, right through to students in higher university education.
