What you will do in your working day
If you have A levels or equivalent in a technical subject and are interested in working with data this is an incredible opportunity to launch your career in a business that is a world expert in making coatings. We are now recruiting an Apprentice to join our Design and Knowledge Management (D&KM) team and work with internal customers to deliver high quality analyses to assist data driven decision making. Your work will support value engineering projects, new product development, new innovations, raw material harmonisation and complexity reduction activities for the business in the UK and other parts of our global operation.
The training route for this role includes completing level 4 Data Analyst training via Digital Native in London then levels 5-6 Digital and Technology Solutions Professional apprenticeship programme via Bucks New University, High Wycombe. 20% of your time will be allocated to training you to degree level, the rest of the time will be on the job training.
The Role:
- Assist in gathering datasets and from a variety of sources
- Receive training to work towards becoming a Data Analyst
- Carry out analysis to accelerate Research & Development projects
- Collaborate with colleagues to design experiments using statistical methods to build understanding of best formulating practices
- Track progress of experiments & keep all stakeholders informed
- Collaborate with local & global teams to provide guidance and assistance in analysing & visualising data
- Support the development of new experimental capabilities
- Work safely & in-line with company & legal regulations

About You:
- A’ levels in science/Maths/IT based subjects
- Interest in IT and data
- Proficient in MSOffice
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Enjoys a collaborative working environment where supporting colleagues is key
- Enjoys sharing knowledge & skills
- Curiosity to question & a willingness to learn
- Driving license (or you must be able to travel to London and Aylesbury for the training element)
The training you will be getting
As part of the Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship standard, you’ll be registered as a member with the British Computer Society and be on a fast track to an industry recognised qualification and your dedicated industry coach will support you through a blended approach that will include remote, in person, 1-2-1 and group learning.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
You will progress on a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship and continue to develop your skills as a data analyst.
