What you will do in your working day

During your apprenticeship you will:

  • Gain exposure on the project life cycle from start to finish. Such as getting involved in the design process, where we will teach you to use relevant systems such as CAD
  • Support undertaking a variety of civil engineering tasks for projects including treatment works, pumping stations and pipelines
  • Be supported to develop more technical skills, to assist Senior Engineers with report writing, evaluating risks and environmental impact
  • Help us to problem solve, creating sustainable solutions to support client’s needs

You will work closely with other disciplines within the project team such as; mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure that the right solution is being delivered as projects progress.

Level 6 Civil Engineer (Degree) Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Our apprenticeships allow you to learn whilst you earn as you study for an academic qualification
  • You’ll get the chance to expand your knowledge by attending university on day release where you will gain a BEng Civil Engineering degree

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Following on from this apprenticeship and completion of your end point assessment, you will progress into an appropriate junior civil engineering role
