  • Working week

    A blend of day and shift work throughout the apprenticeship. Starting on days but then moving to shift to maximise learning - and back to days to prepare for End Point Assessment. Shifts TBC.

What you will do in your working day

Working on a manufacturing site – our Traditional yet innovative Tadcaster brewery is the Go-To Brewery for HEINEKEN UK.

You’ll work towards a Level 4 Brewer Apprenticeship over a 21-month period. Your time will be split between study blocks at college and on-site working alongside our Brewing colleagues, learning, and performing the role of a Technical Operator.  

The focus of the apprenticeship is to

  • Develop your knowledge and skills
  • Learn about the safety, quality and processes that make up our brewing environment
  • Learn about Continuous Improvement approaches

The training you will be getting

Level 4 Brewer Apprenticeship 
6 x 1 week block release at Lincoln University over 21 months 
On the job training as a Technical Operator in Brewing 
International Brewing and Distilling General Certificate in Brewing 
Maths and Functional Skills Level 2 (if not previously achieved) 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Technical Operator, and then progress through to Technical Brewer, and then Shift Manager, alternatively you could progress into Quality Assurance/Laboratory Analysis.
