What you will do in your working day

  • Assist in the preparation and production of plans, designs, and documentation to relevant codes of practice and industry standards  
  • Operate bespoke software which includes working with mapping and planning systems. 
  • Assist colleagues on site visits, take photographs and log details of visits.   
  • Carry out calculations and data analysis,  
  • Provide general administrative tasks such as processing information, creation and collating of documents, photocopying.

The training you will be getting

You will receive a Level 3 apprenticeship in Civil engineering technician. This will earn you a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Civil Engineering (603/1217/8).

All training will be delivered face to face, with a 1-day release per week. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon completion of your apprenticeship, the vision is that you move into a permanent role within the department or wider Council.
