    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

What you will do in your working day

The successful candidate's duties will be as followed:

  • General horse care duties
  • Lunging
  • Mucking Out
  • Turning Out
  • Grooming

Opportunities are available to groom at competitions and to travel. 

The training you will be getting

All training for the apprenticeship will take place at the employer's premises, with the support of the employer, and will be delivered by Haddon Training. 

Equine Groom Level 2.

Apprentices without level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level and take the test for level 2 English and maths prior to completion of their Apprenticeship.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

After completion of the apprenticeship, there is a possibility to enrol onto the advanced apprenticeship (level 3) or premanant employement for the right candidate.

Things to consider

The ideal candidate would have horse experience and a willingness to develop and learn. The location can accept applications from non-riders and riders (competent as competition horses) so opportunities for all. Accommodation is available from January 2024 and livery for own horse is available.
