What you will do in your working day

The position will include:

  • General yard duties i.e Mucking out, turning out/in
  • Assisting with a variety of competitions i.e British Dressage, British Showjumping
  • Assisting with a variety of clinics with a range of top class visiting instructors
  • Assisting with vet, farrier, dentists and physio
  • Preparing horses for competitions
  • Travelling to competitions
  • Care of horses after exercise
  • Customer Care
  • Working with the public

 

The training you will be getting

  • Full Equine Groom Level 2 Standard
  • All training to take place at the employer's premises
  • Functional Skills in English and maths if required

 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Possibility of full time employment and/or progression to Level 3 Senior Equine Groom

Holmside Hall Equestrian is an established BHS approved family business that aims to provide the highest level of customer service to each individual horse and rider. We also stage affiliated competitions for British Dressage and BS as well as unaffiliated competitions most weekends for dressage, show jumping, show X or showing in hand or ridden. We also provide training and education towards BHS qualifications. We are a busy yard with a committed hard working team.
