What you will do in your working day

  • Cleaning kennels and cat pens
  • Socialising the dogs
  • Meet and greet with customers and their animals
  • Giving medication
  • Taking bookings from customers
  • Ensuring all welfare of the animals are up to a high standard while in our care

The training you will be getting

  • You will receive a Level 2 certificate upon successful completion of the apprenticeship
  • All active learning will take place within the workplace
  • Your dedicated trainer coach will visit every 4 weeks
  • Functional Skills in English and maths if required

  • The kennels have a canine hydrotherapy and grooming parlour, in which apprentices are welcome to be involved

Ash Farm boarding kennels and cattery is a family run business situated on a 700-acre working beef farm in the heart of the South Derbyshire countryside between the villages of Ingleby and Ticknall. Our purpose built kennels and cattery are supplemented by a hydrotherapy unit, small animal centre, high security system with movement detectors, security fencing, CCTV monitoring and recording, and supported by a dedicated team of full-time staff and volunteers. We cater for any individual needs, whether young or old, including specific diets and medication, and even offer grooming services at reasonable rates.
