What you will do in your working day
As a Cummins Engine Workshop Technician, you will be at the front line of the business, servicing, repairing and maintaining engines and generators to ensure the customer’s equipment is operating at all times.
Cummins engines are used in a wide variety of customer applications, and you will work on engines at a customer’s site or in the workshop.
Your duties will include;
- Assist with general workshop activities while completing on the job and classroom-based training.
- Assist in cleaning, inspecting, disassembling and other basic workshop activities.
- Learns Standard Repair Times (SRTs) and follows documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and maintenance.
- Assists with completing required documentation, such as work completed documentation and time sheets via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
The training you will be getting
Apprentices will work towards completing a NVQ Foundation, BTEC L3 in Advance Manufacturing and Engineering, and NVQ L3 in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (Mechatronics Maintenance Technician).
This program is accredited via End Point Assessment by iMechE (EngTech).
