What you will do in your working day
- As part of your role as a Tooling Technician, you’ll understand how to support the machining of specialist components from specialist materials, using convention and/or CNC machine tools such as; lathes, milling machines and so much more.
- Set up, measure and adjusting are all parts of the process to ensure correct tooling is in order for production.
- It’s all in pursuit of becoming an unmatched problem solver and driven team member who plays a key part in actively delivering world-class products to our customers, right first time.
The training you will be getting
- Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard Level 3 which includes;
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Toolmaker, Tool and Die Maintenance
- Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
- Training at the JCB Academy - 1 day per week
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Upon completion of your apprenticeship you will move into a Toolroom Technician Role.
