What you will do in your working day
- We’ll show you in depth how we turn out JCB Machines and components to time and budget constraints
- You’ll see how we come up with initial ideas, move them through the design stage, build, test and ultimately, arrive at the finished article, ensuring quality is consistent and right first time
- You’ll understand how to work with external suppliers to improve overall quality performance, attending daily production meetings to ensure issues are contained, investigated and resolved ensuring opportunities for improvements are identified, through utilising cutting- edge technology
- Real, technical skills learned in an accessible, practical way designed to get you thinking creatively about all our processes
The training you will be getting
- Engineering Technician, Level: 3
- The JCB Academy
- 1 day per week
After a period of foundation skills and technical knowledge development within a protected environment all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualification:
- Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace and Aviation Engineering (Foundation Competence) – Airworthiness
- Planning, Quality and Safety Technician
After a further period of skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Airworthiness Planning, Quality and Safety (Development Competence)
Or - Level 3 Extended NVQ Diploma – Engineering Technical Support
Or
Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support
Plus one of the following Technical Knowledge Qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance (Civil Aircraft Mechanical) – approved by the CAA
- Level 3 Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance (Military)
- Level 3 Diploma in On-Aircraft Maintenance-Category A
- EASA Aircraft Maintenance Licence Category A Part 66 modules
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Upon completion of your apprenticeship you will take on the role of a Quality Engineer.
