What you will do in your working day

Tots and Scholars Nursery and Pre-School are an outstanding nursery, they offer a unique approach to childcare, combining EYFS with a holistic approach to childcare. As a L2 apprentice some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Team Work
  • Liaise with Parents/carers
  • To contribute to a planned programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in conjunction with other staff
  • To keep a proper record of achievement file on key children, for parents/carers
  • Work alongside parents/carers of special needs children to provide full integration in the setting
  • Support all staff and engage in a good staff team
  • Uphold standards within the Setting by adhering to all policies and procedures
  • Strive to safeguard children by working to the organisation’s safeguarding Code of Conduct
  • To attend ALL out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parents/carers evenings summer fairs, Christmas party, etc

The training you will be getting

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Tots and Scholars Nursery and pre school will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
  • Functional skills in Maths and English if required

This will be delivered through Tots and Scholars Nursery's dedicated training provider, Realise. Realise is an established training provider that’s enjoying an exciting period of growth following a management buyout and rebrand in late 2020.
