What you will do in your working day
- Working alongside IT Procurement, Purchasing and Asset Management teams to deliver value for money and reduced risks to Mott MacDonald through supplier negotiations
- Assist business owners with the identification and sourcing of cost-effective and high-quality suppliers
- Assist with supplier due diligence checks using our ethical/reputational and financial viability tools
- Raise purchase order requests on behalf of business owners and track these through to completion
- Support the reporting of procurement metrics such as number of renewals/new purchases, number of suppliers and value of purchases managed by the teams
- Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders within the company on different purchases, including IT, Finance, Legal and Management
- Client and stakeholder engagement
- Assist the wider Procurement Team with additional tasks where required
- Building awareness of the Procurement Team throughout the wider business
- Get involved with our Early Career Professionals activities to develop skills and build a network, through seminars, training courses and learning on-the-job. This will supplement time spent on the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply qualification and allow practical application of knowledge
- Support will be provided by your line manager (IT Manager – Procurement), the IT Category Managers, and the network of apprentices within the company
- Academic support will also be received from college tutors, which will be linked through regular coordinated reviews between academic and company staff
The training you will be getting
- As an apprentice you will work towards a Level 4 Diploma in Procurement & Supply with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). Training is will be delivered online via day release
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- Upon completion of this apprenticeship you may be offered a full time role with Mott Macdonald
- You may also be supported in continuing your progression through university/degree apprenticeships as well as professional body registration
- You may be promoted to a more senior level within the company and train the next apprentices in this post, Mott Macdonald also offers ongoing training and development through your time with us
