What you will do in your working day
Turbo Machinery Services Ltd in Bedford are looking for a Turbine Craft Engineering Apprentice to join them. Could this be you? This company support both planned and unplanned field activities for the manufacture, assembly and refurbishment of rotating equipment, with experience of working on most steam turbine makes and models, compressors, gearboxes and pumps. The main roles and responsibilities of the apprentice will be to support the workshop manager and develop the ability to carry out jobs in the workshop and through the shop floor, where you will be creating, processing and completing job packs, as well as amending and updating drawing registers and understanding the drawings and parts lists. You will also support preventative maintenance in the workshop and understand the quality control of each job. As well as this you will work to deadlines and certain targets, assisting in the generation of quotes. Preplanning upcoming work for site and workshop through site visits and planned meetings. You will understand and help control health and safety measures in the workplace, and help control, manage and maintain consumables. And also control manage and maintain site toolboxes and equipment. And, carry out regular workshop reviews with the workshop manager and support the operations team.

- Functional Skills Level 2 in English or maths if required

On successful completion of the apprenticeship there may be a full time job where you can progress forward with the company. This could be for example Field Service Engineer or Workshop Engineer
