What you will do in your working day

The role will enable you to develop your accountancy knowledge and experience working within an accountancy practice.

The role will be varied and you will be provided 'on-the-job' training to support your AAT apprenticeship studies.

What will the apprentice be doing?

You will largely be working on bookkeeping, VAT and accounts preparation projects but will also assist in some of the day to day functions that are essential to keeping the office running smoothly.

As a Finance Accounts Assistant your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing Sole-trader and Limited company financial accounts
  • Ensuring all queries on accounting and management information issues are dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Ensuring invoices are filed and payments dispatched promptly with the relevant supporting documents
  • Answering incoming calls and emails within the department
  • Supporting business needs of the team, directors and accountants that visit the office daily.

The training you will be getting

You will be studying to gain the AAT Level 2 qualification with Solveway Apprenticeships as your training provider.

You will have access to our live online learning portal with a fully qualified tutor on the course. We also have in-person classroom learning at our offices in Hertfordshire. Training typically takes place 1 day a week.

After successfully achieving the AAT Level 2 qualification, the candidate will be considered for the Level 3 AAT Apprenticeship training and/or the opportunity to progress to a more senior level with the firm and a career within accountancy.
