What you will do in your working day

Working in a busy restaurant you will be trained by some of the best Asian chefs and learn all the techniques of a busy Indian and Nepalese restaurant.

Training will be provided:

  • Learn to prepare Indian / Nepalese  Vegetarian, food varieties masalas, spices and accompaniments daily
  • Support Senior Chef with kitchen management
  • Maintain inventory food records and supplies
  • Understanding controlled waste management in their section
  • Work with the other Bread chefs
  • Work alongside Executive Chef source wheat and rice flour to maximise quality but reduce costs
  • Determine daily food portions
  • Learn to ensure the kitchen is able to consistently produce the signature taste required
  • Maintain food safety and standards according to HACCAP
  • Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment
  • Monitor Maintain a clean and organised workstation, following food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
  • Desired skills (will be trained)

  • Some knowledge of Indian spices, herbs, and cooking techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

The training you will be getting

1-2-1 teaching and observations: A training specialist will coach, teach, and support the apprentice at the workplace on a one-to-one basis, visiting at regular and agreed intervals. Face to face teaching as a group, Block delivery throughout the year with other apprentices in the area. The teaching location will be at a central point to those on the apprenticeship in the area.

Tutorials: Apprentices will be offered regular 1-2-1 tutorial time remotely with their specialist trainer.

E-learning: We provide an e-learning platform with work and activities for apprentices to complete.

Math and English if necessary.

Level 2 Production chef apprenticeship.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

A full time position is available upon sucessful completion of the apprenticeship.

Things to consider

This position is based at Mill street in Kidderminster and at their new venture The old leaking well on the Worcester road. There will be some hotel checking as well as restaurant guests.
