What you will do in your working day

A rare opportunity has come up at Hascombe Farm Equestrian Centre.Formerly known as Royal-Leisure it has ran for nearly 25years as an established showground. The facilities hosts a number of British Showjumping and British Dressage affiliated events, aswell as hires out their world class facilities.

A well established rehabilitation yard on site offers top of the range equipment like a Equusir scanner box, water and dry treadmill.

The yard consists of 22 horses mainly competition based jumping up to 1.40m internationally.

A non rider apprentice is preferred with a passion for events and rehab unless they have their own horse. The ideal candidate will be looking after the livery horses and all general horse care including:

  • Attending shows
  • Turning out and bringing in
  • Tacking up
  • Mucking out

No day is the same at this location with the candidate getting full experience of horse care, show days and working with rehab yards.

The training you will be getting

  • Senior equine groom Level 3 (A level) apprenticeship standard

  • Functional skills, if required
  • All training will take place within the workplace

  • Your dedicated trainer coach will visit you at work every 4 weeks.

About the employer

Hascombe Farm Equestrian Centre, formerly the well-known Royal Leisure, ran for nearly 25 years as an established showground. In 2014, it was taken over by a private owner who updated and refurbished the centre to an exceptional standard.
