About the employer

Engineers for the world’s polymer industry. We manufacture new and rebuilt internal mixers ranging from 1.5 litres to 620 litres. We manufacture tangential and intermeshing mixers. The original Carter Brothers established their company in 1873 as millwrights, with their main product being transmission and line shafting for the then, thriving Lancashire cotton industry. With the gradual decline of the cotton industry, it became apparent that the Company had to diversify to survive. Carter Brothers were set up in its present form in 1954 when Carter Brothers was taken over by Mr. John Bridge and his brother Mr. David Bridge, shortly after the Castleton firm of David Bridge and Company Limited became a public company.
