Lumbbrook Livery is a BHS approved yard in Cheshire, specialising in Showjumping where Liz is a British Showjumping accredited coach enjoying teaching riders from grassroots to advanced level.

They have a variety of horses from happy hackers to top class competition horses, foals and youngstock. The staff become like members of a family and the employer ensures they are looked after well.

This position is a non riding role , however riding is a possibility for the right candidate.

The candidate must be enthusiastic, wanting to learn all aspects of horse management and be reliable.

A high standard of care is expected and the successful candidate must have a genuine interest in the horses in their care.

The apprentice will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with mucking out
  • Turning out 
  • Tusing the horse walker
  • Grooming
  • Getting horses prepared for shows
  • Lunging
  • General welfare of the horse

The candidate will benefit from a wealth of experience within the team and in the horse industry, to attain a high level of horsemanship and discover the many different aspects of horse care, management for competition, etc .

The training you will be getting

  • A level 2 certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the apprenticeship
  • All training will take place within the workplace
  • Your dedicated trainer coach will visit every month.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Possibility of further employment available if successful and progression to a Level 3 Senior Groom Apprenticeship.
