Year 1 and 2 Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm/7:00am-3:00pm. Year 2 Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm/7:00am-3:00pm. Year 3, 12 hour days 6:00am-6:00pm. Years 2 and 3 will include a series of rotations based at Heathrow.

What you will do in your working day
Over three and a half years, you’ll earn your stripes under the best engineers in the business.
They’ll hone your engineering skills, giving you aircraft components to repair in both ‘ramp’ and ‘hangar’ environments.
You will rotate through different workshops, picking up various sets of knowledge, so you understand the nature of every highly sophisticated component.
Every day will feel new, and you’re going to be busy.
The training you will be getting
Working towards Composites technician level 3 apprenticeship standard.
Alongside training on the job, you’ll be studying for the qualifications you need to become one of our future Workshop Technicians. We will also supplement your learning with additional aircraft related training in Air Legislation, Human Factors and Aircraft Composite repairs.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
By getting a broad understanding to use the latest repair technologies and materials to repair and maintain aircraft components from our fleets. You will also gain the qualifications you need to become an Aircraft Workshop Mechanic.
Further development with your engineering skills, knowledge and on the job experience will set you up for a future career as an Aircraft Workshop Technician.
