What you will do in your working day

The apprentice responsibilities include:

  • Looking after children in a fun, stimulating, and caring way
  • Help to feed them, ensure they are clean, and carry out different activities with the children to cover their development within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Assisting with washing and dressing the child
  • Preparing their food and help them eat
  • Getting to know the children, their needs, and interests

The training you will be getting

During an Apprenticeship, you will combine learning on the job with off-the-job training where you’ll gain a wealth of industry-related experience and obtain an accredited Early Years Practitioner Level 2 qualifications.

Functional skills in maths and English (if required).

Childcare Apprenticeships really are a great route into a varied and fun career. After successfully completing the level 2 apprenticeship program, the candidate has the opportunity to take up an advanced level in Early Years Educator, Level 3, and so on to Leadership level 5.

Things to consider

Candidate can apply with level 2 functional skills certification in English and Maths. However, if the candidate does not have the certification, they will be taken along with the level 2 childcare apprenticeship program.
