Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

What you will do in your working day
The apprentice responsibilities include:
- Looking after children in a fun, stimulating, and caring way
- Help to feed them, ensure they are clean, and carry out different activities with the children to cover their development within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Assisting with washing and dressing the child
- Preparing their food and help them eat
- Getting to know the children, their needs, and interests
The training you will be getting
During an Apprenticeship, you will combine learning on the job with off-the-job training where you’ll gain a wealth of industry-related experience and obtain an accredited Early Years Practitioner Level 2 qualifications.
Functional skills in maths and English (if required).

Childcare Apprenticeships really are a great route into a varied and fun career. After successfully completing the level 2 apprenticeship program, the candidate has the opportunity to take up an advanced level in Early Years Educator, Level 3, and so on to Leadership level 5.
