What you will do in your working day

Key duties during the apprenticeship include:

  • Learn multiple techniques to be able to produce or refurbish components and assemblies
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of a range of manufacturing and assembly skills including balancing, test, inspection and winding
  • Assemble products on time, working to aerospace specifications and internal processes using a wide range of manufacturing skills
  • Ensure work is delivered to the required quality standards
  • Operate machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Follow and apply health and safety processes on site
  • Ensure all work activities contribute positively to team performance and productivity

The training you will be getting

  • Various training is available to meet company and functional objectives as well as to enhance the apprenticeship programme
  • Apprentices will be follow the Level 3 Engineering Fitter qualification with Milton Keynes college with on the job and classroom training assisting with your learning of multiple aspects of manufacturing practices. The apprenticeship duration is 42 months
  • Years 1- 3 – expected to be 1 day per week in Milton Keynes college and 4 days at Pitstone
  • Apprentices will be assigned a mentor and buddy to assist them throughout their apprenticeship

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Following completion of your apprenticeship, you will use the skills and knowledge you have acquired to further your career, and gain additional technical skills
