What you will do in your working day

As a Business Administration Apprentice, you will be an integral member of the administration team and will be involved in a number of key processes and assist with the daily services and functions involved within a busy school.

These are challenging, but exciting roles; the successful applicants will gain opportunities to carry out a variety of duties throughout the administration and reception functions within the school.

Key duties will include:

  • Assisting on reception and dealing with enquiries from pupils, parents, visitors and staff
  • Answering the phone, dealing with calls and passing relevant information on to appropriate staff
  • Responding to emails, dealing with and passing on relevant information to appropriate staff
  • Assisting with both incoming and outgoing post
  • Undertaking general administration tasks using a range of IT software including Microsoft Word, Excel and SIMS (our School Management Information System)
  • Assisting with First Aid (training will be given)
  • To assist with photocopying, filing and general clerical duties

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Level 3 Diploma for Business Administrators
  • Level 2 Functional Skills English & maths
  • Preparation for End-Point Assessment (EPA)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • On completion of the apprenticeship the successful candidate will be experienced in a range of administrative skills, which will be transferable to other school establishments and will provide a range of transferable skills also suitable for employment outside of education
